In Food and Drink

Many of the early traditional ballads and Robin Hood tales frequently refer to food and drink – whether it be sharing a medieval feast in the outlaw's Sherwood Forest hideaway or meeting at a local inn or tavern to plan the next venture to rob from the rich! The subtle, themed naming of food and drink to reflect local celebrities, customs, historic events and locations etc. is a common practice on the menus of hotels, restaurants, pubs, clubs and bars all around the world and numerous public houses, inns, hotels and eating establishments carry Robin Hood themed names, as well as several prominent and respected breweries who use specific Robin Hood linked brands for their beers and ales.
